European programmes are routinely submitted to evaluations, examining the relevance of measures, the coherence of objectives, the efficient use of EU funds as well as short- and longterm effectiveness. Evaluations serve foresighted, accampanying or additional assessments of programmes or projects and result in specific recommendations.
